Our Story: Handmade in Our Studio, Just for You

Just for You At Bobble & Clay, we believe the best gifts come with a story, a fingerprint, and a little bit of soul. In a world of fast shipping and identical products, we're here for the opposite: slow crafting, one-of-a-kind pieces, and the human touch that makes all the difference.

From a Spark of an Idea to a Studio Full of Laughter

This whole adventure started where many great American stories do: in a garage. Our founder, Chen Li, an artist trained in sculpture, found herself surrounded not by marble, but by bags of clay and a head full of whimsical ideas. She loved making people smile and noticed how a simple, nodding figurine could capture a personality perfectly. What began as a passion project—making funny bobbleheads for friends' birthdays—quickly grew. Orders started coming in from friends of friends. The garage workbench got crowded. It was clear this was more than a hobby; it was a calling to spread personalized joy. So, we took the leap. We moved from that garage into our very own local studio—a bright, creative space where clay dust in the air is the smell of good work. Here, a small team of artists who share a love for craft, humor, and detail now work together. We're not a faceless factory; we're a real workshop where every piece has a maker and every order has a story

The Real Reward: Your Stories & Smiles

The best part of running this studio isn't just making bobbleheads; it's connecting with people. We've had the joy of creating gifts that mean something: A daughter who gifted her father a bobblehead of himself fishing, his lifelong passion. A team that ordered miniatures of their boss (in a fun, loving way!) for a retirement party. A bride who surprised her groom with a bobblehead of them on their wedding day. Reading reviews where customers say, "They nailed our personalities!" or "It's the most thoughtful gift I've ever given!"—that’s what gets us up in the morning. It confirms that in this digital age, there's a deep, enduring appreciation for something tangible, personal, and made with honest skill.

What "Handmade in Our Studio" Really Means

It Starts and Ends with a Person

From the moment your photo arrives, it's reviewed by the artist who will sculpt it. They study the details—your smile, your expression—and begin to translate you into clay. No assembly lines, no impersonal machines doing the work.

The Hum of a Creative Space

Our studio is alive with the sounds of creation. You'll hear the quiet scratch of sculpting tools, the gentle hum of the kiln, and the occasional burst of laughter over a particularly funny custom idea. This energy goes into every piece.

Embracing the Unique

Because every piece is shaped by hand, no two are ever exactly alike. Slight variations in the clay, the stroke of a paintbrush, the set of a spring—these aren't flaws. They are marks of authenticity, proof that your bobblehead wasn't popped out of a mold but was lovingly brought to life.

A Labor of Time and Care

The 15-day process isn't arbitrary. It represents the time needed for each careful stage: sculpting, drying, firing, painting, and assembling. We never rush the craft, because good things—personal things—take time.

Our Invitation to You

We built Bobble & Clay on a simple idea: real people, making real things, for other real people. We're not a giant corporation. We're artists, crafters, and small business owners pouring our hearts into our work. When you order from us, you're not just buying a product. You're supporting a small studio, you're trusting an artist with your memory, and you're choosing to give a gift that has a heartbeat. Thank you for being part of our story. We can't wait to help you tell yours.
